Lancaster Health Center is as Nationally Recognized Patient-Centered Medical Home because of our comprehensive approach to providing team-based healthcare services to reflect the values, interests, needs, and choices of the individuals we serve. Same day appointments are available in addition to scheduling future appointments. To schedule an appointment at one of our centers, please dial 717-299-6371. For urgent medical concerns after hours, call 717-299-6371 to speak with an on-call provider. In case of a life-threatening emergency, please dial 911.

Additionally, Saturday walk-in hours are available at our Duke Street location from 8 a.m.-12 p.m. (Please arrive early–walk-in appointments are first come, first served. No new patients are accepted for walk-in appointments.)

Family Practice Care

Preventive Care

Lancaster Health Center offers annual wellness visits for infants, children, and adults as well as all of the preventive services our community needs to stay healthy:

  • Yearly physicals for all ages
  • Cervical (PAP) screenings with abnormal PAP follow-up and colposcopy
  • Colon cancer screening tests you can perform at home and referrals for colonoscopies
  • Referrals for breast cancer screening
  • Screening for depression, substance use, and developmental disorders
  • Healthy weight management for children and adults
  • Screenings for diabetes, high blood pressure, and cholesterol
  • Screenings for infectious diseases like hepatitis and tuberculosis
  • Screenings for sexually transmitted infections

Lancaster Health Center provides all recommended immunizations for children and adults and participates in the Vaccines for Children program to provide free of charge vaccines for children who are not covered by insurance or are underinsured.

Pediatric Care

Well child visits and sick visits are available for pediatric patients provided by Family Practice Care and Pediatric providers.

Medicare Annual Well Visits

We provide “Annual Wellness Visits” for all Medicare patients. These wellness visits are available to all Medicare patients at no charge to the patient.

Physicals for School, Sports, Work, and Drivers

Patients can schedule routine or same day appointments for school, sports, work and driver physicals. We do not currently provide Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) physical exams.

Chronic Disease Management

Our highly trained, competent, and compassionate medical providers are equipped to take care of all your chronic conditions, like diabetes, high blood pressure, heart disease, and more.

Family-Centered Maternity Care & Women's Health

Lancaster Health Center’s Family-Centered Maternity Care & Women’s Health services are led by our culturally diverse and experienced team of providers. Our care teams provide a full-range of healthcare, education, and counseling during the many ages and stages of a woman’s life, and throughout the growth of their families.

Behavioral Health

We integrate body, mind and heart by providing integrated behavioral health services, using bilingual Behavioral Health Consultants who are able to provide brief interventions, short-term for depression, anxiety, and other behavioral health conditions. We also offer traditional individual, family, and group therapy.

Refugee Health

Lancaster Health Center provides medical examinations and vaccinations for newly arrived refugees, asylees, and other immigrants in a culturally sensitive environment using interpreter services as needed.  We then serve as the medical home for any follow-up care that is needed. Our diverse staff enrich the patient experience with their cultural experiences and understanding.

Chiropractic Care

In collaboration with Wenger Chiropractic, our on-site chiropractors are committed to providing solutions to address your unique needs, delivering a natural approach to back pain, neck pain, headaches, and extremity injuries.

Substance Use Treatment

In collaboration with the RASE Project, we provide medication-assisted treatment options for patients with opioid/narcotic dependency. Treatment options include Suboxone, Subutex, and Vivitrol.

Patient Education

Lancaster Health Center partners with the Harrisburg Area Community College Nursing Program at our New Holland Avenue site to offer free patient education on many health topics/conditions. Nursing students work with patients to develop healthy habits to meet each individual’s health goals.

Wellness Circles

Wellness Circles offer individual care, group education, and peer support to patients experiencing a similar diagnosis. Lancaster Health Center offers group classes for expectant parents, new parents and their babies, diabetes management, and more!
